Specialist ShapesThermbond is a two part system (dry formulation and liquid activator) added together to form a uniquely bonded refractory material. Thermbond products are a complete line of engineered refractory materials. The Liquid activator is acid based and water is not used in the bonded system. Water is a contaminant to Thermbond refractory materials.

Thermbond features rapid mixing, rapid curing, rapid heat up, thermal shock resistance, excellent bonding strength is exhibited on all fired solid refractory material and superior non-wetting characteristics. These capabilities allow for time savings on new installations, repairs and precast shapes. The chemical bond allows the product to cure rapidly, the thermal shock resistance allows for equipment to be returned to service hours or days quicker than conventional refractory materials which need to be fired to drive off moisture.

Thermbond has excellent non wetting and slag/dross resistance when in contact with molten aluminium, zinc, copper, magnesium, steel and iron.

Thermbond has ultra high green strength making it very suitable for placement into areas where other materials are not performing.

Thermbond refractory products are suitable for chemical, petrochemical refineries, aluminium smelters, cement kilns and coolers, steel plants, specialty shapes, and most applications where downtime is important to productivity.

In the molten aluminium industry Thermbond has proven its self time and again. The unique characteristics render Thermbond "Non Wetting" to molten aluminium permanently, no oxide or corundum growth. This leads to improved life, less down time and improved metal quality. With the ability to strongly bond to existing fired refractory this also makes Thermbond an excellent construction and repair material to use in Melting and Holding Furnace Linings, considering furnace sills, Jambs and Lintels where the performance would be increased by 5 to 10 times, Crucibles, Launders and Troughs as well as Gunned Repairs over existing cleaned refractory linings.

In the Petrochemical Industry Thermbond has many applications. As no water is used and thermal shock is greatly reduced equipment can be lined or repaired and be back on line hours or days earlier.

Applications in the Petrochemical Industries include Heater Floors, FCCU Cyclone Repairs, Ethylene Crackers, Coke Calciners, Sulpher Recovery Units, Regenerator Walls, Stack Linings, Burner Tiles and Precast Shapes as well as Gunned Linings.

Thermbond suits many other applications and industries:

  • Power Industry
  • Nickel Smelters
  • Glass Industry
  • Gold refineries
  • Copper Smelters
  • Mineral Processing
  • Lead and Zinc Smelters

Cement Industry - Burner Pipes, Cold Zone Brick Repairs, Nose Rings, Chain Section Repairs, Firing Hood Repairs, Feed Shelves, Burning Zone and Pre Heater Repairs

Other applications include - Incinerator Linings, Potash Dryers, Reheat Furnace Hearths, Flares, Glass Tank Repairs, Boiler Repairs, Iron reduction and sintering, Coke Ovens,

Phoscrete concrete is a super strong, fast setting concrete material developed from a patented binder system.

Phoscrete forms an epoxy-type bond creating a permanent repair.

Phoscrete is suitable for roads, curbs, floors and other concrete structures. Phoscrete uses a no water, it is supplied as a dry mix with a liquid activator. Once the Phoscrete and activator are added the material is set within minutes.

Phoscrete bonds permanently to existing concrete, its self and metals, inhibits rust, early high strengths, fast setting and is easy to use. Phoscrete comes in different mixes to meet a wide range of needs.

Phoscrete Castable for standard repairs.

Phoscrete Hot Floor for industrial floors which are subject to spills and splashes up to 1090 C.

Phoscrete Castable is suitable for constructing concrete structures, it is also very suitable for repairs. Applications include repairs to existing concrete in industry, roadmaking, airport runways, and general concrete repairs. Phoscrete castable get high strength early to allow for the repaired section to be used again quickly to minimise downtime and to create a strong long lasting repair

Phoscrete Hot Floor resists spills and splashes. The fact that no water is used makes it very suitable for repairs to Smelter Pot Room floors where moisture in standard concrete can be a concern. The ability to with stand metal and cryolite splash make this the perfect product for use in floor construction and repair in the aluminium industry.
